MAT Holdings, Affiliate Suzhou Honbase Ltd. Builds Largest Food Waste Center in Suzhou

August 18, 2020 – Suzhou, China: In China, the disposal of food waste is a significant challenge due to the large population and lack of waste processing. Much of the food waste ends up in landfills producing large amounts of carbon dioxide, contributing to global warming.

Government leaders of Jiangsu province and the Suzhou municipal government have asked MAT Holding’s affiliate, Suzhou Honbase Biological Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., to design and build a food and kitchen waste treatment center in Kunshan City to process the waste in an environmentally safe way.

Covering approximately 60,000 sq. ft. with a processing capacity of 600 tons each day, this facility has been a benchmark for local food waste disposal in the Suzhou area since its completion in 2020.
